Humorous Phases of Funny Faces
This was created by Blackton in 1960 and was labled a the worlds first cartoon. Blackton managed this by drawin a series or event sonto a chalk bord with chalk. He would capture that picture, rub the bit out he wanted to make move draw it back on and change it a little bit then capture that image again, it wa very similar to thr 1832 Phenakistoscope, accept Blackton used 25 frames per second creating a Stop Frame animation. This would have been shown for people of al ages. It was created for those who had a TV.

Egyption Burial Mural.

The egyption burial mural featured here is belived to be around 4000 years old. It shows wrestlers wrestling. They were usualy carved or painted on to walls to signify a story. These drawings are very similar to a series of animation drawings but the only didderence is there is no way that these pictures could have motion in them. But from the way they are set out you can see the intentions behind the artists darwings, and see that they have intended to portray movement.

Bird in the cage

Bird in the cage was created in te 16th century. I was created by two still images places back to back, a single bird on one side and on the back an empty cage, this was turned into an animation by tying string to each side, the string was then twisted and realeased. This created the ilusion of the bird being in the cage. This was very popular with younger children and was a cheep form of etertainment. This would have been used by every class catogory as it was simple and cheep to make.

Phenakistoscope

Was created by Joseph Plateau in 1832. As an optical toy it was normaly created from 25 frames of wich consist a picture of usualy a dancer, clown, or as this picture shows two boxers. Each picture is individualy drawn and slightly different to show the olusion of movement when it had been spun. This was brought for children but only for weathy familys as it was an expensive toy to buy.

Dan i have submitted what i have already done, I have spoken to Chris and he has suggested that i do this, and continue through out the holidays where it is a less stressful enviroment for me. After i have completed each individual topic, i will e-mail you with the updates.
